Healthcare storage in Utah is planned from a Salt Lake City office, which is the whole reason this page exists. Labs USA is based downtown at 222 S Main Street, so a Utah supply room, sterile processing department or clinic store is a drive rather than a freight quote and a hope. We plan the room, supply the shelving, carts, cabinets and bins, and coordinate delivery and installation across the state. Labs USA is a supplier and project partner, not the manufacturer. We supply Quantum Medical healthcare storage products, help configure them for the room and the workflow, and coordinate delivery and installation.

Why a Utah team matters for a storage project

Storage is one of the few things in a hospital that has to be measured, not ordered. A wrong-by-two-inches shelving run is a return, a restock and a delayed room.

Nearly every problem we get called about in Utah is dimensional. A store room was drawn before the equipment list was final. A clean utility room lost a wall to a hand-hygiene station. A department inherited shelving from a unit that closed and it is four inches too deep for the corridor door. None of that is solved by a catalogue page; it is solved by somebody standing in the room with a tape measure and then getting the specification right the first time.

Being in Salt Lake City means we can do that on the Wasatch Front inside a day, and reach Logan, Ogden, Park City, Provo, Cedar City and St. George without the project becoming a travel exercise. It also means freight into Utah is a known quantity rather than a surprise line on the quote, and that install crews are scheduled against your access windows instead of the other way around.

The Utah healthcare market we plan around

Utah’s care is concentrated along the Wasatch Front and then spread very thin across the rest of the state. The large operators here are publicly known: Intermountain Health, which is headquartered in Utah; University of Utah Health, the state’s academic system in Salt Lake City; MountainStar Healthcare, HCA’s Utah hospital group; Shriners Children’s Salt Lake City; and the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center. Around them sit surgical hospitals, freestanding ambulatory surgery centres, dialysis and infusion clinics, imaging centres, dental and veterinary practices, and the rural district hospitals and critical access facilities that cover the Uinta Basin, the central corridor and the southwest.

Those organisations are named here as public market context only. Nothing on this page states or implies that Labs USA has supplied, installed or contracted with any of them. We claim no dealer, distributor or contract status with the manufacturer, and we do not state or interpret codes, standards or certifications. We design to the criteria your own facilities, infection prevention and compliance teams provide.

The practical consequence is a split. Big-system projects are usually part of a construction or renovation package with drawings, submittal deadlines and a general contractor to work around. Independent clinics, surgery centres and rural hospitals are usually one room, one budget and a fast decision. We quote both, and the difference is mostly in how much paperwork the project carries, not in the products that end up in the room.

The other Utah-specific factor is growth. Facilities here tend to outgrow their store rooms before they outgrow anything else, because floor area was allocated to clinical space and the supply room absorbed whatever was left. That is why so much of our Utah work ends up being a density question rather than a product question: the same room, holding more, without an addition.

How a Utah project runs

1Send the roomDimensions, a couple of photos, the door and corridor widths, and what has to live in the room. A sketch on paper is fine.
2We lay it outYou get a layout, a product list with published models and sizes, and the alternatives we considered. There is no charge for the planning work.
3Site walk where it helpsOn the Wasatch Front we will come and measure. Elsewhere in Utah we do it from your dimensions and photos, then verify before the order releases.
4Quote and lead timeOne quote covering product, freight into Utah and installation, with lead times stated per family rather than averaged.
5Delivery scheduled to your accessDock, lift, after-hours or weekend delivery on units that cannot lose a corridor during the day.
6Install and walk-throughAssembly, levelling, adjustment to the first real load, and a walk-through with whoever runs the room.
Layouts and specifications require Labs USA review. Any quantity, footprint, capacity or layout produced during planning is an estimate for discussion. Final layouts and specifications are reviewed by Labs USA, confirmed on the quote and field-verified before installation.

What Utah facilities usually ask us for

Across the state the requests cluster tightly. Supply rooms that need to hold more without moving a wall. Clean utility rooms where wire shelving has to give way to something easier to wipe down. Case carts and stainless staging for sterile processing. Carts for procedure rooms that fit through a specific door. Bins and clear-front containers so par levels can actually be seen and counted. Cabinets that lock, for the items that need to be behind a door.

Utah state contract and public buyers

Labs USA publishes a Utah state contract page for lab shelving and storage, which lists contract number MA1231 and the shelving families it covers. If you are buying for a state agency, a public health department, a university or a district, start there and tell us what you are trying to buy: whether a specific healthcare storage item can be quoted under that contract is confirmed case by case, in writing, before you rely on it.

For everything outside a contract vehicle, the process is the same as for a private facility: room, layout, specification, quote.

Utah healthcare storage FAQ

Do you deliver healthcare storage across all of Utah?
Yes. We are based in downtown Salt Lake City and coordinate delivery and installation statewide, from Logan and Ogden through the Wasatch Front to Provo, and south to Cedar City and St. George. Freight into Utah is quoted as a line you can see, not buried in the product price.
Will someone come and measure the room?
On the Wasatch Front, usually yes, and there is no charge for it. Elsewhere in Utah we work from your dimensions and photos first, then verify measurements before the order releases so nothing arrives two inches wrong.
Can you install, or is it delivery only?
Both. Installation is coordinated as part of the project: assembly, levelling, adjustment after the first real load and a walk-through with whoever runs the room. Scheduling is built around your access windows, including after-hours work where a corridor cannot be lost during the day.
Which storage products do you supply for healthcare in Utah?
Wire, polymer and stainless shelving, medical carts, storage cabinets, bins and transport containers, wall-mounted systems, high-density mobile shelving and sterile processing storage. The hub page indexes every family with published sizes and models where the manufacturer publishes them.
Do you work on new construction and renovations?
Yes, and earlier is cheaper. If the drawings are still editable we can size the store rooms and clean utility rooms to the storage that will actually go in them, which is much easier than discovering the mismatch at handover.
How much does a Utah storage project cost?
We do not publish pricing, because a store room quote depends on the room, the product mix, freight and installation. Send the room and you will get a quote with the layout and product list attached, at no charge.
Do you make infection prevention claims about these products?
No. We describe materials, dimensions, capacities and configuration only, and we design to the criteria your own facilities, infection prevention and compliance teams provide. We do not state or interpret codes, standards or certifications.
