Pegasus Ecoline Medical Carts

Ecoline is Pegasus Medical’s powder-coated cart line built around ISO 6040 drawers: every drawer accepts the same trays and baskets used in Pegasus racks, so the cart becomes part of the supply system rather than a separate box. Procedure, medication, isolation, anesthesia, emergency and pediatric setups, plus the 40×40 small-footprint carts. Quoted individually by Labs USA.

Pegasus Ecoline Plus procedure cart with blue drawer fronts, side basket, IV pole and open bottom drawer showing an ISO tray

Why the ISO 6040 drawer matters

The Ecoline cart is a powder-coated steel body whose drawers are sized to the ISO 6040 module: the 600 x 400 mm footprint that Pegasus, and most European hospital logistics systems, use for trays, baskets and containers. The manufacturer states that Ecoline drawers are compatible with any ISO 60-40 tray or basket and that the position of drawers, trays and baskets can always be readjusted.

For a supply chain team that is a bigger deal than it sounds. The tray that is filled in central supply can ride a Salus transport cart, sit in a Hygieia rack, and drop straight into the drawer of an Ecoline procedure cart without repacking. Drawer compartments are ABS and removable for restocking and cleaning, so exchange-cart and kanban programs work with the cart rather than around it.

Ecoline trays, baskets and dividers themselves are priced and available today in our ISO 6040 reorder tool. The carts are configured to order and quoted individually.

Ecoline 40×40: the small-footprint carts

Ecoline 40×40 IT setup with an all-in-one arm.

The 40×40 is a newer, narrower Ecoline body designed for rooms and bays where a full-width cart does not fit. Its distinguishing feature is a multifunctional back space: the rear of the cart is used as storage, as a secured place for IT equipment, or as a mount for additional accessories, so the cart carries more without growing wider.

Pegasus publishes four setups: a phlebotomy cart with rounded edges and removable drawers for seated blood draws, a crash cart with back storage, an IT cart with a covered back bay for a tablet or all-in-one computer, and a treatment cart with back tilt bins. Preconfigured versions are named Standard, Standard Pro 1 to 3, IT Tablet and IT AIO.

The manufacturer’s own configuration path is three steps: choose the cart model (NM40-39-44448-NT, NM40-39-224448-NT or NM40-39-22TB48-NT), choose a worktop (gallery top, or gallery top with a right- or left-hand side shelf), then add accessories from the side, top, back and lock groups. We follow the same steps on your quote.

Pegasus Ecoline FAQ

What does ISO 6040 mean on a cart?
It is the 600 x 400 mm modular footprint used for hospital trays, baskets and containers. Ecoline drawers are built to that module, so the manufacturer states any ISO 60-40 tray or basket fits and can be repositioned. It lets one tray move between rack, transport cart and procedure cart.
Why is Ecoline not priced online?
Ecoline carts are configured to order and the current model list is confirmed with the manufacturer on every request, so we quote in writing. The ISO 6040 trays, baskets and dividers that go in the drawers are priced and can be ordered now in our Pegasus designer.
What is the difference between Basic, Plus and Premium?
Drawer count and included accessories. Basic versions are the plain drawer stack; Plus and Premium add drawers, rails, IV pole, waste bin, tilt bins or a medication cassette depending on the type. We list exactly what is included on the quote.
How does the medication cassette work?
The manufacturer describes a four-level transferable cassette with 16 to 24 lockable bins on telescopic slides. It can be filled in pharmacy, locked, carried to the cart and locked to it with the cart lock; a spare cassette lets rounds continue while the first is refilled.
How narrow is the Ecoline 40×40?
The name refers to its compact footprint class. Exact external dimensions vary with worktop, handle and back-storage choice, so we confirm the dimensions for your configuration on the quote rather than publish a single number.
Can we standardize on one accessory set across Ecoline carts?
Yes. Rails, glove holders, waste baskets, bottle holders, tilt bins and IT arms are common across the line, and several are shared with the Poly and 40×40 bodies.
Do you supply the trays and dividers too?
Yes. ISO 6040 trays, baskets, lids and dividers are priced in the designer and ship separately from the carts; we can add them to the cart quote so everything arrives together.
What is the lead time?
Quoted with the price after we confirm with the manufacturer. Carts are built to configuration, so allow more time than for stock trays.
