The right fume hood accessories improve safety, extend hood life, and customize your hood for specific applications. From airflow monitoring to specialty liners, these components turn a standard fume hood into a purpose-built workstation for your lab’s exact needs.
Airflow Monitors
Continuous face velocity monitoring with visual and audible alarms when airflow drops below safe levels. Digital displays show real-time FPM. Required in many jurisdictions and recommended in all labs handling hazardous chemicals. Retrofit kits available for existing hoods.
Base Cabinets & Stands
Support cabinets beneath bench-mounted hoods for chemical storage, solvent waste, and general storage. Options include acid/corrosive cabinets (with integral spill containment), flammable storage cabinets (FM/UL approved), combination cabinets, and open base stands for equipment.
Interior Liners
- Fiberglass (FRP) — General chemistry; good chemical resistance, cost-effective
- Polypropylene — Acid digestion, HF use; excellent acid resistance
- PVC — Acid and corrosion resistance at moderate cost
- Stainless Steel — High-temperature work, perchloric acid, and cleanroom applications
- Epoxy-coated Steel — Budget-friendly option for light-duty chemistry
Service Fixtures
Gas turrets, air valves, vacuum outlets, water faucets, and electrical receptacles mounted inside or on fume hood side posts. Remote-operated fixtures keep hands outside the hood during adjustment. DI water, nitrogen, and specialty gas connections available.
