  • Description

PCR Workstation with Class 100 Vertical Laminar Flow Air and Timed UV light. 110V

Molecular Biology/Life Science

Combination Workstation

  • Mystaire’sMY-PCR vertical laminar flow workstations are designed for applications that are not hazardous to the operator.
  • The compact design is ideal for applications that require a clean work area.

PCR Simplified

  • MY-PCR prep stations are bench-top personal clean zones allowing the operator to amplify RNA and DNA while minimizing the potential for background from airborne contaminants.
  • Airborne contaminants are prevented from entering into the work zone through constant positive pressure HEPA (Class 100/ISO 5) filtered air.

The PCR Workstation: How It Works

  • Room air enters at “A” and is forced through the Pre-Filter and HEPA filter creating Laminar Flow.
  • Clean laminar airflow enters at “B” and exits at “C”.
  • UV light sterilizes pipette tips, tubes, and flasks.

What is PCR?

PCR = Polymerase Chain Reaction

  • Uses:
  • Paternity testing
  • Forensic DNA sequencing and variance tests
  • Genetic disease testing
  • Paleontology
  • Genomic research of plants, animals, & humans
  • Covid-19 Research
  • Urology

Reason for Purchase

Avoid Cross-contamination

  • Cross-contamination during the amplification of DNA and RNA can lead to results that are inaccurate. These results cost the lab technician valuable time and consume expensive reagents.
  • Cross-contamination occurs when we accidentally amplify DNA or RNA from an outside source.

PCR Run Costs:

  • Time: 2-3 hours

The 5 Main Sources of PCR Cross-Contamination

  1. Airborne particulate
  2. Pipettes
  3. Pipette tips
  4. Worksurface
  5. Gloves
